Instructors

Carla Zorzanelli

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in love with the beach, the trees, and the music, Carla Zorzanelli has journeyed from an urban way of living toward a deep connection with nature and the more-than-human world. After earning a Master's in Science at Schumacher College in the UK, she became a certified Forest Therapy guide with the ANFT, deepening her path through Rewilding, Deep Ecology, Shamanism, Ancient Indigenous wisdom, Jungian studies, and Regeneration—even living in a tent in the African Savannah along the way. Carla now brings Forest Therapy to Brazil, actively guiding groups and offering nature connection courses to diverse audiences. She co-founded EcoUni, an ecological university promoting regenerative learning for an ecofuture.

Founder

Amos Clifford

Amos Clifford is the founder of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs and author of the bestselling Your Guide to Forest Bathing (Conari Press, 2018). After over 20 years studying Buddhist philosophy, he founded Sky Creek Dharma Center in 2004, emphasizing meditation in wild places. By 2008, he'd moved beyond Buddhist identity toward the nameless experiences he'd had in nature since childhood, deepening his inquiry into human and more-than-human relationships. Between 2010-2012, intensive wilderness practice with the School of Lost Borders led to his vision for ANFT, founded in 2012 and inspired by Japanese Shinrin-yoku. He developed the school's "Standard Sequence" over the following two years. Amos holds degrees from the University of San Francisco and teaches and leads retreats internationally.

Marcela Morales

Marcela Morales is a certified Forest Therapy guide and trainer with ANFT, with academic studies in Anthropology and Management of Natural Resources. For over 20 years, she worked as a licensed naturalist and birdwatching guide in the cloud forest mountains of Monteverde, Costa Rica, collaborating with the Environmental Education department of the Tropical Science Center and serving as an internship supervisor for the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Now living on Costa Rica's southern Caribbean coast, Marcela offers holistic wellness, culture, and nature connection experiences that weave together her many passions—Forest Bathing walks, Sound Healing sessions, Qi Gong classes, naturalist tours, and immersive experiences within Bribri Indigenous territory, honoring both the land and its people.
